had a great stay at hotel phileas lazare! we got a free upgrade and the room was super clean and cozy with a comfy bed. loved the coffee machine in the room and the high quality breakfast with fresh omelettes. also, the staff were sooo friendly and helpful, made us feel like we were valued guests! the location was perfect for exploring the city or catching the metro, literally just across the street.
but the lift only goes from the first floor, which is a hassle with luggage. also, it would’ve been better if the room was a bit bigger.

The breakfast every morning was nice.
Our stay was riddled with problems, starting with the shower drain that was completely blocked up. We reported it, but the issue was never addressed, leading to water overflowing onto the bathroom floor. This lack of maintenance is absolutely unacceptable! To top it off, the air conditioning was stuck on the coldest setting, making our stay miserable as the room stayed at a chilling 60 degrees.

The complimentary afternoon cake and crepes were such a delightful surprise! 🍰 Although the A/C didn’t work properly and we opened the window instead, the comfortable bed made for a great night's sleep.

The room was on the smaller side but super comfy. The bed was amazing, and the pillows too—I want to buy them! There were two windows letting in light and fresh air. Everything was clean, and there were nice touches like a kettle and coffee. The AC was decent but not perfect, had a bit of trouble keeping the room cool on warmer days. it was cozy and well-decorated, which made it a pleasant place to stay.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous
The location was a dream, just a two-minute stroll to the metro, making it sooo easy for us to explore the city. Our room was quite generous in size, decorated with a unique Jules Verne theme that added a whimsical touch to our stay. Plus, we were treated to complimentary afternoon cake and delightful live music during breakfast—it truly elevated the experience!
